The City of Brussels' “Prêterie Project” makes renting various objects at a low cost possible for its inhabitants. Thanks to this service, the purchase of an object used only once or twice a year can be avoided. These objects often become waste in the long term, and are also a waste of resources and money.
To carry out this project, the City of Brussels teamed up with the Brussels cooperative Usitoo. A wide selection of objects are available for rent: cleaning equipment, DIY tools, travel equipment, logistics for small events, etc.
The City offers discount codes when renting objects for its residents, non-profit associations and residents of the CPAS/OCMW (sociale welfare office) (postal code: 1000, 1020, 1120 and 1130). The codes to be applied for each category are :
- The residents of the City -25% BXLZD
- CPAS residents -50% BXLCPAS
- Associations -50 % BXLEnsemble
The ordered items are delivered in a Usi-relay point (pick-up point) located in the City. The pick-up point is selected when ordering. There are 7 Usi-relay points in the City. Other points will be opened during 2022 in various parts of the City (postal codes 1000, 1020, 1120 and 1130).
To use the Prêterie service, visit www.usitoo.be with your discount code and then:
- Browse the catalogue and search for the desired object(s);
- For each desired object, select the dates and the Usi-relay point of your choice, and click on “Book”;
- When all the desired items are in the cart, order the cart by following the suggested steps (you will need to create a free account if you do not have one yet). In the last step, do not forget to encode your discount code above to benefit from a better price.
